Abigale Lee
Miller (born September 21, 1965), is a famous American choreographer as well as
a dance instructor and reality TV personality. Abby Lee Dance Company was
established by her. It was a part of eight seasons of Dance Moms. Miller was
found guilty on June 27th, 2016 to the charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. She
was sentenced for one year and one day in federal prison and was released on
March 27 of 2018. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of 2018. It's a form
of cancer that renders her unfit to walk. The wheelchair she uses now is used
to get around. Miller was raised in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. She was a dancer
, and was a student under her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. In
1980, when she was 14, Miller was given the task of in choreographing and
coaching one of the dance teams of her mother. Miller assumed control of the
studio and renamed Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was certified by
Dance Masters of America and became a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania
Chapter #10 in 1986, however, her membership was ended in February 2012, with
DMA saying that Miller's reality-TV program Dance Moms was "a total false
representation of our dance teachers and their students , and is detrimental to
the dance profession."
